Hey guys,

Any idea how I can reinstate the vintage abr-1 on my 1966 ES-335?

The previous owner installed a Nashville bridge and inserted conversion bushings.

Are there any bushings available that will accommodate the vintage posts?

Thanks

I have the original abr and posts and would like to use them without plugging the guitar and drilling.

Cheers

Shoot over to Philadelphia Luthier Tools and search for Conversion Posts. Choices are threaded or standard…both allow for drop in ABR.

I use conversion posts. Plugging the holes is your only other option.

(I suppose you could tap out a threaded rod, but there isn't much meat to work with.)

Nashville to ABR1 conversion bushings allow for an ABR1 threaded post and bridge.

Faber makes two different styles for this. The iNsert just taps down into the Nashville bushing hole. There is a tiny lip that shows but not nearly as bad as the top of the Nashville bushing.

I’ve used the iNsert, it’s easy. You just have to make sure the holes are deep enough to accept the inserts. Use a drill bit to remove wood until you have the proper depth . The other Faber kit is the BSWKIT. This kit has a threaded lower section that screws into the body. You must use a tap to do this install.
