Slight changes to 50s standard LP

I am trying to make my 50s standard lp a bit older looking. Thought about removing the pickup covers. Looks like I need to cut through soldering to do so? Any changes I make I want to be easily reversible. This would be an easy resolder if I changed my mind right? Or is the solder from cover to pickup case really needed?
Also thinking of aged hardware and removing the pickguard. I have some creamtone plastics and knobs, but they are not much of a change from the stock on the guitar. Any ideas or input would be appreciated. Oh. It’s a gold top.

If your hardware is chrome, change all to nickel, the creamtone stuff is good looking and more vintage. Pickguard stays on. tinted clear coat gives a nice patina.

My main guitar is traditional standard that I refinned and added all nickle including the vintage accurate shaped covers that give a real vintage look.

You also might have better luck in the Sunburst pub, I highly doubt anyone owning a Les Paul made from 1952 to 1960 (which is what this section is for) will weigh in on aging their guitar.

Done. Maybe an admin can delete this thread? I looked to move or delete and did not see options.
