Hi all, I'm trying to restore my '65 Trini that's missing its tailpiece badge. I have a friend who can clone me one, but i need clear, preferably hi-res dead-on shots to do so- google is not proving helpful in this instance.

Could anyone help??

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated :dude:

You're a lucky guy, since the only thing I hate about Trinis is the badge.

Mike Slub has one:

J@S: I don't suppose your friend would be interested in making a 2nd Trini badge would he? I'd be happy to help subsidize this endeavor.

Hey man thanks for the pic- unfortunately i need a dead-on shot for scanning..the distortion from the angled shot makes scanning too innacurate to be usable.

Once he has the correct template he can shoot off as many as needed so remind me in a week or so and i'll let you know how it came out:)

Jeez, why did they glue it onto the top in that auction? Could have left it on the wooden block and in the case for non Bigsby loving future owner.

And Yuuki - you're welcome. I've been helped by a few members on this forum in the past and it really makes a difference. Sharing this stuff around is what it's all about. Yeah, keep us posted - keen to see some shots.

Here's mine in some fading light and before I put the correct tuners back on ( not that one can really tell)...need some better shots of this fine guitar!

J@S: Will your friend make the rosewood base too? I have a Trini Lopez without the plaque and would be interested in getting one also.

Axel I've contacted a guy about making a RW base for me. Do you want me to see if he can do two of them if he agrees to do this for me?

Hi Hackubus. I'd love to! I'd like to pay you/him for the job also, honestly I don't know how though since I live in Sweden. Maybe you know a way to transfer money? Paypal? I hope this isn't considered spam in some way.

We'll figure something out. He said he could make the base/badge no problem. I'd have to send him my trapeze to get the fit right. Since you & I both have RI Trini's, they should be the same size & we can use my trap as the template.

I told him I wanted to wait 'n see if J@S's guy comes thru on the plastic plates first.
So I guess we'll just have to hold for more info.
