• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Had that bridge on my dear departed 82 standard as well, along with the most bizzare strap buttons....pointy things that actually facilitated the strap slipping off!...almost lost it several times before i replaced them with traditional round buttons.Still have them in my parts box:rolleyes:

Yep, those would be Gibson's "Posi-Lok" strap buttons — another artifact of early-'80s Gibson production and shown below in gold:

Can anyone here identify the time period when this German-made bridge was used by Gibson?
I have seen it on LP Customs and ES-3X5 guitars but am not sure from what time period it was used.
I found pix of a Les Paul Customs from @1979? with this bridge, but am looking for more information about it.

Hey, I know this is an old post but I am looking for one of these. I lost a couple screws for mine (82 ES335)

any chance you you still have and would let it go?

The only electric guitar i've ever bought new, my 1976 Les Paul Standard in Cherry Sunburst has this on it. I don't recall changing it. I use the brass saddles. Should they wear out I'll be out of luck LOL! It functions really well. Everything is screwed down tight and there's no slop. Of course it hasn't been adjusted since it was initally set up. I still use the same brand and gauge of strings.
