• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

My Pearly doesn't look like "Pearly Gates" but... it looks and sounds like a rare bird !
My cherryburst R9 looks more like a modern "Historic".

Frank, your Pearly reminds me a lot of this '99 R9... a guitar that I've long lusted over and regret not buying when I had the opportunity.

Purty to look at and great at the gig - these Pearlies were some of the best new Gibsons in a while!

My favorite Burst!
Beauties all, gents.
Maybe one day, I'll get to play one.
I'd pay some dough just to SEE one in person!

They have alot of the things we loved about our original Bursts Gaston, and you don't have to drive to the gig in an armored car!

I do NOT want to start another top-wrapping thread, but it's interesting that half of these are not top-wrapped. What does Billy Gibbons know anyway! :peace2 :rofl

This is the only guitar I have with the top wrap and I like the way it plays and feels.

I had a chance to compare an aged PG to my VOS. Mine is heavier but even still they both sounded very similar imho. The one thing that I was amazed with is the amount of aging/wear on the neck. I figured that since the back is almost contoured from the buckle rash, that the neck wear would be as extensive, but oddly it wasn't. Aging job was very good and usual TM quality, but if that is how the neck really is, I was really surprised at the condition it was in.

A nice top on the aged I played too, tight flame pattern and lots of quarter sawn action. Still these are great guitars either way you go, but to me, personally, the VOS is just as good as the aged, and I love my top.
