Prove it, post a receipt like I did. When said friend posts his receipt, it will look just like
<——that one, so Clearly not a shill. Prove it pal.
i do not slander pick up makers, like the op did, name one
person who did not receive paid for pickups, from va or Stephens.
show me one better business bureau claim? Seems they both have “A” ratings.
i am not the one making fake laws up to cover paranoid delusional thoughts.
i am not the one making false tax claims.

that is kojak, he is a known lier. His own words prove it.
none of his tax or law talk is even remotely true.

point out one lie I have told, and prove it.
waiting......

My pal Tom bought a set of Strat and a set of PAF's. We compared the VA to bog standard SD Seth Lovers and SS1 vintage Strat pickups I own. He was very upset over what he paid for pickups no better than SD's regular, but stellar line. This whole VA thing is marketing hokum and hyperbole! Chips is Bullchips from what I see and obviously a shill. If he is trying to convince anyone that these expensive VA pickups sound better than inexpensive off the shelf Duncans, or even stock Gibson or Fender offerings he is deluded and wrong.

I heard 'em. I see no reason to buy them. The whole Virgo Arlo mythos is a marketing lie and that false narrative is a good indication of what to expect.

I ain't postin' Tommys receipt. You know so much figure it out. They were shipped to Rochester, NY and tested at the HOG and Sound Source. They are not the exceptional tone generators as portrayed on youtube. They are not worth the upcharge. There is no Virgil Arlo and lying misrepresenting bullshit marketing proves it.

You're the one with no credibility, shill.

"For years we've heard rumors that pickup making competitors were spreading rumors and questioning the legitimacy and quality of Virgil Arlo Pickups. Using an easy to say professional name for the sake of privacy & making some of the best pickups around makes for an easy target. More recently they've gone so far to take to it online to spread false rumors. It seems people will do anything to destroy the competition. "

Which the "Tone Specific" guy went to extreme lenghts to never answer a direct question and cover its tracks about the return addresses of both Virgil Arlo and Tone Specific being pick-up point subcontractors for USPS, the TS in San Diego and the VA in Ramona. Many other LEGIT businesses that don't want to be disturbed, despite that, list their address and put out a sign saying "We receive BY APPOINTMENT ONLY". It's been suggested to do the same to the nameless and faceless person that present himself as the "tone Specific guy", with the action of deleting all posts with any reference to its whereabouts.
Using an easy to say professional name for the sake of privacy
So, it's true. Virgil Arlo has actually NEVER EXISTED.
making some of the best pickups around makes for an easy target
This is debatable. The few REAL comments about those two brands, posted by real customers and not by shills in behalf of both brands, are not that encouraging, TBH.
More recently they've gone so far to take to it online to spread false rumors
What exactly is false about the rumors? If Virgil Arlo doesn't exist, what's exactly the false in the rumour?

It looks like another Will Boggs in the making. It has all the distinctive marks of yet another Ponzi scheme in the already several times hurt-by market of p'up making... and it surely pass the "duck test" with flying colors: "If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck"

Would you, as a forum moderator, take the risk of enabling something to happen to your registered forumites and the 10-to-1 ratio of visitors? Don't you at least find this behaviour strange/suspiscious, when every single p'up winder market his/her real name out in the open, and has never reported any activity of tentative of being ripped-off by anybody, as the alleged reason for all the protective layers of occulting the real identity and location?

Just look at Throbak, Seymour Duncan, Re-Wind, Lollar and Lindy Fralin, just from the top of my head: you'll find not only real addresses and phone numbers, also videos about their setup, winding machines and processes, and in some cases even detailed specs up to turn count. Not Tone Specific nor Virgil Arlo discuss any spec at all, to the extent to not making a sale if the customer asked for'em as a condition, and preferred to be mocked for it rather than reveal even the most useless of all specs a simple DC reading of their products. Doesn't that alone trigger an alarm alert in you mind?

A more adequate name for this line of p'ups should be the "Muddy Waters", and NOT to pay homage to the late, great blues artist.

NOTHING is stopping me from winding pickups and selling them at $834.17 a wack! Money up front!

And I cans take several months to wind them wit my bicycle wheel adaptor!
(I'll have to remove them baseball cards...but WAIT! Those be the MAJIK TONEZ JUICE!)

Then I can make all sorts of crazy claims about them and protect myself by using a false name and finding some paid shills out there to 'testify' they are great! TESTIFEYE!

Lookout Jon (if'n that bees yer real name and not sum NOM DOO PLUME)! Here I come!

...........................'PICKUPS DAT GOTS NO HICCUPS!'
Created by world known session psaltery player Ronn Ridikolous!
"I try each set to make sure they are drippin' wit tonez from da greasebucket!" Ronn R.
"Dees be 'da cats azz! I Picked 'em outta de pan myselp!" Ronn R.
"I rekorded da' intro too me next albumin wit da very next set to goes out de doe!" R.R.

That said anybody can make anything and sell it the same way. It's the Wild West out there folks...

I hope Jon has a sense of humor or I'm dead. Just for the record, I LOVE Jon's stuff and his open way of showing the state of the art instead of burying it under layers of 'compost'.

I'd like to make a visual analogy using the female body to illustrate the different way of doing business of two selected p'up makers :

Throbak:

Tone Specific/Virgil Arlo

Do you get the picture? (pun intended) :ola

I'm not saying anything about it one way or another, I'm just posting a quote from the company's website. I only found it an odd way to deal w/an issue that I guess has occurred somewhere else on the internet. I don't have the time to dig down & find discussions about the pickups on other fora. If I did, I would look to see who is doing the posting as much as the actual reviews themselves, whether pro or con.

This was one wacky (whacky? Wacky?) read

I read up on the origin of “Pound Sand” and it wasn’t what I thought it was.

I do like how people like to sound like angry Wolverine when they are in a fight in a forum

BUD (if you add that to the end of the sentence it is menacing.... Wolverine used to do that)

But back to Pounding Sand. BUD....

I thought it was like a different way of saying “eat doo doo”— like when I was in college we pounded beers— but in this case the person offering is telling you to pound sand—-like— chug sand... but its not! Alas. You learn something every day.

The expressions "go pound sand" and "not enough sense to pound sand" are American slang from the 19th century. It is a reference to menial, and often pointless, labor....The latter phrase often appears in a longer form, "not enough sense to pound sand down a rathole."Feb 8, 2012

Pound sand sand in my case is simply a reply to people not worth my time.

but I can see how a group of paranoid folks take it some place else.

very expected.....yawwwn.

looks like a bunch of low rent pickup users mad .....muhahaha. It’s funny.

one thing about VA, is string to string balance, any moron feels that right off,
unless they can not hear. Or supposed second hand knowledge? Why second hand?
the owner not capable of speaking for himself? Can’t post a receipt? Odd, but expected.
becuse it’s bullshit.

this is so comical......
and my tone is so kick ass, hope y’all Injoy that crap tone you have ...
becuse you are cheep, inpatient, paranoid and delusional.

no skin off my back, but comical none the less.
