• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

imagine using this Mountain stack in a studio today ! šŸ˜‚

FWIW. I read a Leslie West interview years ago where he said he played through a Deluxe Reverb hooked up to an unhoused 15" speaker that was pointed at the ceiling for the studio version of Mississippi Queen.

    Clapton's Shameful Slide

The protestors let themselves get assimilated into what they were protesting against and then learned new & more effective ways to vilify and silence anyone protesting against the new status quo.

    Hey Pedal Geeks!

Seriously Ed, try a Dallas Rangemaster type treble booster, preferably w/germanium transistor, and hi, mid & full range options.

What amp is Clapton playing through in this video?

IMHO this is Clapton's best tone and playing since his D & D days, but while he has his tweed Twins on stage there is also a smaller amp on a stand behind him. It's mic'd up and at the video's end it looks like Clapton moves over to it to get that final feedback. Does anyone know what that...

Is this just about the best Les Paul tone ever???

:wail http://youtube.com/watch?v=Tvr5HV_Bpbo Ghostly black and white images and some might complain about the sound quality but its a miracle this footage ever existed at all and a bigger miracle that it has survived. I don't know what else to say. Over the past 40 years I've heard the iconic...

Looking for an old thread of Gaston's

Last year (or the year before) GastonG posted a couple of soundclips of late 70's recordings he had made with his '59 Burst played through a Brown Deluxe and a Marshall 50 watt head. Those were killer tones and playing and I wanted to hear them again but can't find the thread???

After hearing this, I think Mick Taylor may be the greatest Bluesbreaker!

Found this last night: http://tela.sugarmegs.org/_asxtela/ Simply scroll down to the JohnMayall1968-12-04 show (they're all listed alpahbetically) to hear some of the best Les Paul tone ever! While Clapton set the standard, and Green certainly ran well with the baton, Taylor, IMHO simply took...
