They are going to need to break in. That will make a huge difference.
Find an adaptor cable and play iPhone/stereo music/ heck white noise thru them when you go to work.
Unrelated- my buddy is doing that with some recently acquired guitars- on a vibrating device.
Ok- leave that alone
Deja vu’

There are some good speakers break-in websites that run for up to 8+ hours. I use these with all my new speakers.

Last time I needed a pair of 10s I got a great deal on a pair of 60s ceramic Jensens like in blackface Super Reverbs (c10r? I forget the model).
Very under-appreciated speakers.
Everybody loves a 66 SR, but few seem to appreciate the speakers that came in them.
And mine were already broken in and ready to rock!

Probably Qs Charlie; I don't think Rs could take the abuse that a Super dishes out. But the Qs are killer speakers for sure!

Yup.
Everybody wants early break-up AND Alnico speakers.
Ceramics break up a little earlier and can sound great.
Best Super I ever heard was a 68 drip edge with c10s.

My 6g16 build currently sports Webers. A 10a125 30w and a 10f150 T. Had each paired with a plain 10f150 with good results. Also have an Eminence Copperhead thats a 1.5” VC and 75w. It paired well with all too…I never found a bad combo. Two ceramics for punch but the sweetness of a 10a mixed in there is excellent, IMO.

Ps - that Super is inkstamped 51st week or ‘67 and has its 4 original CTS alnicos (sweet at 3-4 v and it roars at 6-7 volume).
