• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Wow, £6.50 here! Worth it though, lots of colour pics inside too. And a fascinating article about Robert Johnson, arguably as important as Eric, and with a previously unknown pic of him too. Enjoy.

Gonna place my order now.

But I wish that, for every 10 people who brought up the “Les Paul with a Marshall” combination, 1 would bring up a “Les Paul with a Hiwatt” claim. Underrated combo!

I went through the same attempt at getting a copy of Guitarist last summer when I got wind of the article on Kossoff's "Isle Of Wight" stripped-top Les Paul. The only place in town stopped carrying it right after the Peter Green issue was released. I waited weeks for the next issue only to be notified that they (Barnes & Noble) had stopped carrying it because of problems associated with Covid restrictions!!

What source do you guys like for buying this magazine in the US? I ordered the Les Paul anniversary issue a few years ago, but can't remember who I bought from.

I used to have a subscription to this magazine in the US. Just buy it off the website. Not the cheapest magazine when shipped to the US.
I also used to find it at Barnes and Noble.

This is the same cover shot for Guitar Player magazine latest edition with what I assume to be the same or similar article .

Can you imagine that Beano is sitting in someones home and being played by that individual thus denying it's return and reuniting with Eric Clapton . Another thought that if Eric Clapton had his Beano back at how much magic could be made for us fans including the 2005 Cream reunion shows @ the Royal Albert Hall and @ Madison Square Garden as I was so Lucky to attend the first MSG show and imaging the fireworks and pyro from going off by Eric Clapton playing his Beano Les Paul .

So, Beano was stolen in 1966, Les Paul’s weren’t old collectors items then and weren’t even good sellers. No one knows the serial number and some of those old ones must have changed hands without paperwork or knowledge and therefore it must be reasonable to assume that it’s entirely possible that someone, even quite a famous burst owner already has it.

Maybe , the other thing is they don't know the serial # of Beano . So -ponder that for a nano second and then wonder what could Eric Clapton do to try to identify it by visual marks and markings on the instrument today ? Crazy as it gets , but the thief that nicked it sure knows what it is and what he got . This has to be the perfect crime of the century as the thief probably has it all to him self and plays it and laughs every time he plugs it in . Karma is still around and kicking .

You know, I don't EC really gives a FF about this guitar. He may have for awhile after it went missing but I think he moved on a long long time ago. The Strat has been his go to for 50 years, now. I think he could have found a suitable sub in the Les Paul department if he really wanted to.

I think this guitar remains that much more interesting as whereabouts unknown.

Someone knows, and I'm glad they're not telling.

It'll break the internet....
