• THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING! We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and recently moved to a new hosting platform. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE HAVE MOVED THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER! Let us know how things are going! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin

I've decked the trem on both Strats I've owned. I'd much rather have a hardtail. I just don't get along with a wiggle stick.

I prefer the hardtail. . . and on the ones with the tremolo, I deck it with 5 springs and a 4" bar just in case I want a little warble.

I prefer Bigsby when I want to tremolo myself!!

BUT. . . with that said, the regular floating tremolo on a Strat makes it sound more like a "Strat" to my ears - for whatever that is worth!!

Luckily they are our guitars and we can do whatever we want with them!!

Every hardtail Strat I have ever owned [or seen] came with tremolo.
Just sayin' ... :ganz
