I’ve only gone and pulled the trigger on a 2017 57 True Historic painted by Tom Murphy..
I was wanting a TH and a gold top.. and saw this come up on reverb close to where I live.. at a good price .. went to go and see it today and met a nice bloke called Stuart .. I haggled him down and got a really good price I couldn’t refuse..

So here it is.. Goldie (I’ve got the horn) lol

He bought it new.. and for some reason sent it off to Chandlers to have real nitrate inlays installed and slightly shrunken to give to a more aged look to the neck.. but he didn’t like the result and this didn’t bond with it.. and because of this knocked off a good chunk of the going rate for a TM/TH..

Tbh.. I didn’t see or feel and issue at all.. so snapped it up.. for way less that market value.. 😉

It’s only money.. 🤷

Ok.. so all you TH owners .. did you replace the pots? 🤔 or stick with the crap that’s in there ?

Can’t believe they’re not CTS !? (Or are CTS not vintage?)

These POS only taper from 8 to 10 ? (Or again is this “vintage”)

Thread 'Which new pots most like a vintage centralab?'

I have been playing nothing but vintage centralabs for years. Now that I have a '59 replica for budget reasons i am keeping it all new repro parts. I did some searching and the amount of new replacement parts and the opinions is a bit overwhelming. I am simply looking for a quality pot that has as close as possible taper to a vintage centralab and is fairly easy to turn like a vintage one as well. Again it must have a similar taper to a '50s Centralab. What say you?... Thanks.
