beautiful special ?
I really like my '15 LP Special DC. Got it on clearance, and wasn't sure if I would be able to bond with it or not, but I really dig it.
I got the same delivery estimate, it arrived in just under three weeks by courier in a huge box!
Here are a few pics of my 2015 Less+. The more I play it, the more I love it. I am really enjoying the pickups...I expected them to be pretty good, but they are exceeding my expectations! And I will soon be used to the neck...of that I am certain. I'm also finding the ability to split the coils more useful than I expected. I'm getting some great clean tones in the middle position with one of the volumes rolled back to 8 or 9, depending on whether I want more neck or more bridge...surprisingly nice tones!
So I can confidently say the guitar is exceeding my expectations. And even if it had just met my expectations, I would still be satisfied!
How do you like the case?
I was pleasantly surprised by the 2015 gold case. Very sturdy, and has a huge storage area for accessories.
Lol, meaning the burst still has lots of colour but is a really soft transition (the opposite of a clownburst!) - I know I couldn't think of another word! :hee
He said 'pre loved' meaning He wasn't the first owner. I think he still has it?
Gotchya! Most use the term Gradation or I use to call it the feathering. Those old "Clownburst" had a nice gradation when new. The weaker or less stronger color areas always fade out first. I really like the "Soft Burst" thing you mention. That effect is so beautiful on a well executed Burst. My Faded Tobacco Burst on the 2013 R9 I have caught my attention just because the color was bang on to my old 59 and the 57 ES225 I have. That transition from strong dark color to bright yellow is the best part.
As for the 2015's I like them. They have things that vreally make me understand the reason and am OK with it. I like the wider neck, I prefer the frets cut over the binding and the Tuner thing and graphic 2015 things I think are cool as it was a nice celebration of Les. No one has to have one that doesn't want to have one and for those that do, they should feel free to enjoy them. The case is alright with me, beats that POS Gigbag.
Does anyne know if Gibson still uses these cases or did they go back to the older styles on the 16s?

Instead I got the money a few months later when they slashed the prices and then a Classic was in my budget.
I've posted a photo of it before, but I recently went and put some covers on the pickups. To me it completes the look.
Before I was also a real sucker for the vintage/tobacco type sunburst and really liked me some flames. But after reading up on plain tops I kinda like'em too.
And it feels like my Classic has both a little flame and a little plain top going on with that nice drop burst. I also got the new titanium nut from Gibson. Recently I also read about a nut replacement in TUSQ. Any insights on that? Good? Bad? Doesn't really matter now that I have one in titanium?
thanks for this, have been thinking about putting Pup covers on, so good to be able to see what they look like - which ones did you get? Where the sizes the same for both pups?
Yes and no!
For the T model they went back to the same cases (and gig bags) but for the HP line they came up with a new case.
Doesn't it look snazzy?
I have not heard many thoughts on it though and hardly seen one in the flesh.
But I do wonder how it will age...
As a first time Les Paul buyer myself, I did not care so much for the 60s slim taper type necks, and the 50s were always a bit too batty for me. The 2015 neck just fit my hand perfectly.
I was going to buy a Studio in the beginning of 2015, but then family vacation took over and there was no money left after....Lucky me. eace2

Tusq nut in place...
is that from Gibson? Do they sell those or is that the one you have to call and ask for? I would like one for my junior but I'm not the original owner.
The one Gibson will send you in a zero fret nut in Titanium - you just need to give them the serial number. The Tusq one I bought, it was only about £10 IIRC
