Need Help Replacing '04 Classic 1960 Les Paul Inlays

Looks good Bruce! Damn, are you sure you don’t miss the old inlays? Man, that was a sick snot color! It all worked out when you called the doctor and made it all better……
You are in luck, Bernie. I saved most of the snot inlay shavings & scraps. So, we can melt them down to create new inlays to replace the original ones in your '56 Goldtop.

That's kind. Greenish-yellow deserving of their derisive nickname, Snot.

I say this as a proud owner of a 2000 '1960' Classic with snotty inlays.

I tried the 'leave it in the sun long enough' process a while back and it didn't work.

I too muse about changing them out, but I have other priorities.

Perhaps someday as a 'project'... but then, what else to do, and why not keep AS-IS Classic since I have other LPs and other projects, etc.

I think it must've been an attempt by Gibson USA to make the guitars appear 'vintage.' Other than the low quality Epiphone electronics the Classic series are quite good guitars.
