I emailed Matt last week and asked about the redesigned bridges, he said these were the ones. https://www.gibson.com/en-US/p/Brid...kel-No-Wire-With-Thumbwheels-Posts/PRTH-ABR1N
So it’s basicly just reshaped ? Did he mention like maybe they changed the alloy or anything else ?I emailed Matt last week and asked about the redesigned bridges, he said these were the ones. https://www.gibson.com/en-US/p/Brid...kel-No-Wire-With-Thumbwheels-Posts/PRTH-ABR1N
So the same yeah?nickel plated aluminum base
The same. Everything except for the ends. And perhaps flattened the tops of the saddles vs having sharper endsSo the same yeah?
brand new they’re fairly taunt ..what do you have now, a wired abr1? ..or do just have the lp special ?Not so sure I would get one due to the chance of losing a saddle if you break a string during a gig.
I do have at least 1 older wired one but most of them are the last version. But now that I look, they all seem to have similar construction.brand new they’re fairly taunt ..what do you have now, a wired abr1? ..or do just have the lp special ?

You’re right, I do have some no-wire models and the saddles don’t fall out.I haven't personally examined one, but from what @matkoehler mentioned in the recent video update around NAMM this is not an issue.
From my post notes:
- ABR-1 functional improvements depart from history: saddles won't rock, 'no-wire' won't fall out unless purposefully pushed in to release, smoothed over parts including saddles.
Saddles are now reshaped and travel is now smooth and sturdy. This new torpedo shaped ABR-1 bridge also has a tell — the foundry mark on the bottom has a G in the middle.I haven't personally examined one, but from what @matkoehler mentioned in the recent video update around NAMM this is not an issue.

What were they making the CS 2021 abr1a out of then? Cause mines magnetic hahaI thought the originals were made out of Zinc(Zirmack). This says aluminim
I’m willing to bet they got their descriptions wrong on what they were talking about. That should’ve been for the tailpiece. ABR-1 was NEVER made out of just aluminum. Yes. It’s made up of Zamac, zinc, aluminum magnesium copper.I thought the originals were made out of Zinc(Zirmack). This says aluminim

If anyone is interested, I left my factory 2015 th59 bridge at home; I can perform a PMI test on the Four Uncles Bridge and tell you the exact chemical composition of the metal used on that bridge
Unfortunately I did not. I’m sorry. Not sure if I can get one of these guys to do it as I don’t know them and some are funny. I’ll see in a few wksHave you been able to do your XRF / OES test to confirm material content? If so please share. Tks.
