• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

So What Is Your Opinion On The 59 Greeny Coming In 2023

He did really ? Not cool
Yes he did. You not see the replica guitar? On the top bout near pick up selector cover plate on the back.

It’s HIS guitar. He can do whatever he wants to it. He could strip it, refinish it, burn it. The sky’s the limit lol

I did see the replica and I must have overlooked it . I seen one at CME .com except it did not have the price . Not that I am in the market for one either .

I’m still stunned about this whole Greenie replica thing. Shows that Gibson will really do anything for $$. If everything that is everything is now available to the highest bidder - how does that foster human creativity?

They’re about to recreate another replica for $50k. Not sure which yet? Either Pearly Gates or maybe Page #1?

My price cap for any guitar is $3000. And I’ve never spent more than $1750 (2007 CS LP Special 1960 SC). It’s just not worth it to me.

People with more money than sense no doubt. I mean, why not buy something better. No way that increases in value that much. Then CC#1? A guys trying to get $40k for it. He dropped 4800 off 🤣 [bought the guitar for like $8k (10kMSRP) and trying to get $30k+ over what they paid for a crappy replica?]

Gibson stated these won’t interfere with CC#1 valuation. Yea ok. Granted these look much better than CC1 but def not $50k+.

To me? If someone sells their KH Greeny replica? I’d say $30k would be on the high side being it was $50k for guitar (which is about a $15-22k guitar with the braz and MUrphy Lab paint chipped blessing) along with the whole coffee, restaurant KH dinner, 4 seasons hotel and first class flight which a buyer no longer has access to. I’d LOVE for a buyer to tell me that wasn’t in the price of a guitar. Yea ok…Gibson just throws $25k out for free? Or was it to pocket at least half the guitar profit tax free by “giving”that portion out?

They should’ve built 100 at $20k MSRP. I’d have bought one. Of course I’d have traded in 2 guitars to pay for over half of it. And I’d have played it. Yes $20k for it would be a lot of money? But it’d only appreciate being 100 made and they’d still hit their $2 mil mark lol

Im sure every one they make will sell - sounds like two different models ?

As far as cost , in my subjective opinion Gibson knows their market the price is realistic of both models .

AS far as K.H. ownership he seems like a great guy - very happy to own this cool guitar . K.H. also is a very successful guitarist I know for a fact most of the negative air on this Thread is from envious bedroom guitar players - ------don't be dicks !

That's the whole point of an exclusive run. And any highly desirable flagship product of a major "premium" brand. Once they're all sold, anyone can ask any price on the secondhand market. Only time will tell what someone will pay. Someone paid $290 for a Standard Les Paul in 1959 and they're trying to sell it for $400k.

There’s a huge difference between a replica and an original though. And yes they can ask whatever they want? Suckers are born every minute. But if I was looking to sell that guitar? How can you price it over $50k when it came with an exclusive party pack which any other buyer won’t get? Gibson can say that wasn’t included in the price all day long? That’s a load of BS and anyone with sense knows it was right?

It just sounds like you don't know how to sell exclusive collectibles. If I had bought one at $50k, I'd be selling it for double. Because "go find another". That's the way the market value is determined.

The Ford GT was a mere $110k when it was new in 2005. That's a replica. Your point is moot when it comes to exclusive flagship products that consumers know ahead of time will be limited and special.
