• THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING! We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and recently moved to a new hosting platform. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE HAVE MOVED THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER! Let us know how it is going! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin
  • Please support our Les Paul Forum Sponsors with your business - Gary's Classic Guitars, Wildwood Guitars, Chicago Music Exchange, Reverb.com, Throbak.com and True Vintage Guitar. From personal experience doing business with all of them, they are first class organizations. Thank you!

Welcome to the world of flexibility.

I think they do a better job than a Paul at that.

Mean or Clean they gots the meat!
I have my Les Paul but have never gotten as close to it as I feel I should. It sounds great. I've always been a Strat / Tele guy. I have a Chinese Epiphone Casino, and I play it more. Love that guitar. It's already the most most versatile guitar I have. But the 335 has been my dream.

Looks bee-ooo-tee-full! I bet it moves in and takes over. Mine took over my studio session kit and has been the queen of the roost for over fifteen years. This pic is from about 2009. Matching tie and handkerchief.

Congrats ch willie on the incoming 335! Like you, I have a 2000 Les Paul that I never really used as much as I should - probably because I too, have always been a "Fender guy".

Early this year I bought a new 60's cherry 335 to try something different in my advancing years. I own many really nice Fenders and Gretsches, but never had a 335 and only played one quite a long time ago.

I am long past any "honeymoon" period and am still absolutely amazed by my 335 and how it inspires me to play. Beautiful to look at, wonderful feel, and terrific tone(s) - it is clearly my favorite now.

I truly hope you are as happy with yours as I am!

If it feels as good as my buddy's does, I'm sure it will. I can already see myself selling a few guitars that it will easily replace. By the way, I love your Strat. I had one the same color and let it get away. Felt sick about it the day I let mine go. It was a 96 AmStd. I have two Strats that I love, but I'd still l8ike to have that one.

Thank you! That Strat is a 1999 G&S-500. You know the story: G&L was founded by George Fullerton and Leo Fender as Leo's last company. George was his plant manager at the original Fender plant. The S-500 has ceramic pickuos, an "all pickups" switch and Leo's "Dual Fulcrum" tailpiece, which is something like a Wilkinson with a longer arm. This one has some wood upgrades as well.

My first good electric guitar, way back in 1989, was a Gibson Les Paul. I love Les Paul guitars, but over the past few years, I've been playing a 330 and 355 more.

Yours looks beautiful. I hope you really enjoy it!
