Here's a nice one I saw this morning. It's got a Jimmy Page wiring.

Where did you see this one? I'd like to purchase it.

Hi fellas!

My first entry on this forum... :) Let's start it with my first Historic:

Picked up this beauty (2002 R8) about 2 months ago. It's on the heavier side (~ 4,5 kg) but that wasn't a deal breaker for me as I instantly fell in love with the flame top, the color (Butterscotch), the very chunky neck and the best of all: It rings and sings like a bell! I replaced the very pinkish looking switch washer with a thin ivory one and the white switch tip with an amber colored tip from Fatboy Guitars. Everything else is stock as there is no need for a change any time soon.

What are the production totals for r8 in 2001? . . .

Since I am the original owner of a 01R8, I emailed Gibson directly with that question - and the response was that the production total was proprietary information which Gibson would not disclose. There are some very educated guesses around here somewhere (sorry, can't remember exactly where those threads are, they are more than a few years old), but nobody really knows for sure how many were made.

This one belongs to a good friend of mine. It's an '01 and it's perfect. It's light and super resonate. It ruined me on LPs. I sold the two I had and still haven't found one to match this one.

Here's my newest LP, saved (almost!) from Skynnrd's storage place in Nashville which got flooded out last spring. Says OC or DC on the neck tenon, I guess that's the color? 9.1 pounds. Maybe the best bridge PU sound of any I have heard, and it's got a Duncan 59 NECK pickup there! (SH1N 0054)

Will play it at my next band practice and see how it stacks up to my others! Does anyone remember which guitarist played this one with Skynnrd? It was in a road case with some of Rossington's guitars (two Rossington SGs).

The top looks really funky but everything works perfectly.
