• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Thoughts needed, not fun ...

Hey man,
Just a note--best to you and your family as the first round of dust starts to settle. I am an 'orphan' now at 37, and from time to time I miss having my parents there for me to bounce things off of. It gets better and harder, too, and we're with you. Honor your father and mother, and your children. We're all stewards of something important.

Thanks Mr. Papa for the nice words. You're right, the first round of dust seems to settle. It is three weeks today that he passed. The pain is different than the first few days. It is strange. It almost feels like it didn't happen, but I know the flashback will be that much harder, realizing the void he left.

Again, I woud like to thank you all for the kind words. It's weird because we do not know each others, but as Seoighs said above "It is closer than many physical ones".

Feels good being part of this community.

Cheers,
jose.

It's unbelievable how when you think life has sent you all the shit in the world, there's actually more coming.
After my dad passing one and a half months ago, my mom is between life and death since last night because of a sudden pancreatitis.
They had to put her in an artificial coma, mechanical breathing, dialysis (sp?) etc...
Her life is on the line and the doctors can only look at her future by the hours.
It's too much too soon to get all this! It seems its never going to end.
Please send her some mojo.
Love,
Jose.

I think about my parents every single day. I lost my father in 1999 and my mother in 2008. There was never a rough edge between us and I was so lucky to have them. I'll never stop missing them, but more importantly, I'll never stop loving them and that is a lasting gift.

Mojo sent for you and your Mom. Please be sure to take good care of yourself.

My LPF friends,
I'm deeply saddened to tell you that our mom passed tonight at 00:25. May she be with our father again and for Eternity, to share the profound Love that was theirs. See you soon.
I know there's no justice with illness, and no one is guilty, but its really unfair that she followed my father so quickly and early after his passing.
Thanks all for the support and warming words.

Jose, sorry for your loss. I know this won't help right now, but it is not unusual for spouses to follow one another quickly to heaven after one passes. They are together again in eternity as you suggest. Peace to you.

WineRed82, I'm so sorry this happened so soon after you lost your Dad. I know that will make you miss them both even more. For what it's worth, I have no doubt that you will, someday, see them both again.

Thanks Mike. I know it often happens that the remaining lifelong partner follows the one that passed, rather shortly. Even moreso when they were so in love for so long, like my parents were. One and a half months is too short I believe. I can only make it positive in thinking that they will have not been away from each other for too long.
I'm so deeply saddened and hurt that I cannot even look at the guitars they've watched and heard me play.

so sorry to hear that. what was the cause of her passing?

She died of an acute pancreatitis that went very bad. It started with glasstones in the Gall bladder.

Thanks Frank. I'm sure they'll be soon together again. Mom was totally lost at home since our father passed, despite me visiting her every single day and taking her to my place for dinner etc... She was impossible to comfort, and she gave everything, body and soul, to take care of dad during his battle for cancer.
I comfort myself, more or less, thinking that she is where she wanted to be. With my father for Eternity.
Still, loosing both almost at the same time is hard to swallow!

I have a couple of gigs coming in a few days, I don't even know if I'll be able to go up on stage and grab a guitar...

Wow...Can't imagine the pain associated with this loss coming on the heels of the loss of your father. You have my deepest sympathies again...

Thanks Seoighs and DoubleBoogie.

Mom funeral was yesterday, and she was buried yesterday afternoon, right beside our father.
Hopefully they're together again and will have a look over us.

Thanks all for the support. It is important.

Jose.
