• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Why an R6 & R7 have a custom shop case instead of a lifton?

The Liftons are actually able to withstand more external pressure, but they allow the Les Paul inside, too much movement. The Historic cases are a better fit, and offer more protection from shock, but a bit less protection from crushing.

This is the coolest thread ever. By the way, someone please teach the OP how to search, poor guy has been here for over a year, only knows how to copy previous questions and ask the obvious.

But....He taught me how to spell "cool", kuz I thought it started with a "k".

So, what kind of kase do I need to be kool?

I like the lifton jsut fine with my R4, the latches are total shit. My original case for 69 LP (beat to shit) has more functional latches then my three year old, rarely used Lifton.

I think I am going to swap out the latches at some point.
