I wonder who built 9 8012?
Do you think it's a replica? My first thought was that it's a 90s '59 reissue of some sort - colour, top wood, binding, inlays, bridge pickup placement and hardware all point to that era imo. I wonder if he was just confused about it?
The guitars that are real are off the charts though!

Is it a big deal that he said he bought that fake looking burst from Gruhn's? I have never seen a real burst in person but even I thought that was a replica or reissue immediately when I saw it. But when he said it was from Gruhn's that would make me assume it was real because he knows more than me. Just curious if it coming from a trusted name in the business might mean it is some amazing unknown example that he authenticated or if he somehow knew Rick would be a sucker for a flashy top and would bite on it.
