According to the owner this was the first Burst imported and sold in Canada. It is 100% original, including the original receipt from 1959, original case and even the keys for it! :##

Is it stamped "Made in U.S.A."? I don't see that on the back of the headstock. Canadian export Gibsons should have that.
That guitar is really bright colored. It looks like a 1960! :wow

I thought that the hypothesis is that the lacquer vapor causes/caused the deterioration of those knobs ...
